Mardi Love is currently working and performing with The Indigo and Belly Dance Superstars internationally. A former member of Urban Tribal Belly Dance, she moved from San Diego to the Bay Area in 2004. Mardi is the major influence on the costuming and choreographic style of The Indigo, and she can be seen in performance on Belly Dance Superstars: Live at the Folies Bergeres & Tribal Fusions DVDs.

In her Chicago Debut, Mardi Love's special brand of Belly Dance instruction is available in a weekend of workshops!
She also stars for the first time in Arabesque's eclectic Saturday 8pm Theater Showcase of Alternative Belly Dance inspired performances called Devil + The Deep Blue Sea - One Night Only, not to be missed!
2 separate weekend workshop offerings:
Saturday 11/22 Workshop: "the good ol' fashioned"
...This workshop delivers drills and combinations for quicker tempos. Combinations lend themselves well in improvisation, providing variety and contrast. They also prove handy as building blocks in choreography. Movements will be broken down and drilled, combos will be joined together to form a short dance. Some belly dance experience highly recommended.
Sunday 11/23 Workshop: "the sweet and low down"
...Another day another dance, but today drops itself into a jar of molasses. Mardi presents combinations borne out of her slow-dancin' bag of tricks. New movements are introduced, as well as new takes on some basic slower moves in the tribal repertoire. Some belly dance experience highly recommended.
Workshops run from 11:30am-1:30pm and 2:30-4:30pm each day, with a Lunch Break 1:30-2:30pm (much snackies, sandwiches & water is provided!) also good for visiting our Vendors & Shopping Galore, which is Open to the Public from 11am-4pm each day - so come out & shop all that is of belly dancing interest!
